Don’t I Need a Pediatric Dentist for My Child?
Pediatric dentists are licensed specialists who have received the additional training necessary to be able to respond to the full spectrum of pediatric dental concerns. General dentists, including all of us here at Park Family and Cosmetic Dentistry, are licensed to provide basic care for children and teens. This means that, even though we are not pediatric dentists, we can handle all of your child’s routine care, including exams, cleanings, and basic treatment. Should more complex treatment be required for your child, we will gladly refer you to a pediatric dentist who can provide those specialized services.
Pediatric Dental Services We Provide
Our very own Dr. Ana Scopu loves caring for children. She and her team work together to make visits fun and comfortable for kids so that you can breathe easier and your children can build positive early associations with dental treatment.
Linda Sexton cleaned my teeth first and then my children’s teeth. She made my kids feel very comfortable. She explained everything she was doing. She showed them the proper way to brush their teeth. They thought it was funny when she told them Mr. Thirsty would suck up all their saliva. They loved the experience of getting their teeth cleaned. In our office, we provide pediatric dental exams and cleanings. As needed, Dr. Scopu will also administer preventative sealants to molars as well as cavity treatments through fillings made of composite material or resin glass ionomer. She also provides fluoride treatments.
