Zoom Whitening

Zoom Whitening is one way to get a brighter smile, and we use Zoom. It is a very effective way to quickly whiten your teeth in just one appointment.

There is another option for what we call deep teeth bleaching—KöR Whitening. Its powerfully effective formula whitens even the toughest of stains.

Comparing KöR  and Zoom Whitening

With Zoom whitening, you sit our office for an appointment of about an hour, with bleaching gel held on your teeth, and under a bleaching light. Some people feel that the light causes some tooth sensitivity.

The KöR system uses a more potent bleaching compound and doesn’t use a light. It holds the peroxide gel in extended contact with your teeth through the use of a custom-fitted clear plastic tray. This process allows the whitening formula to seep down into the dentin to bleach stains at their source.

What sets the KöR system apart is the formula potency — and resulting effectiveness — it is able to ensure through its proprietary shipping, storage, and application methods. KöR products are the only ones on the market that remain unmixed and under constant refrigeration until the time of use. This process prevents the bleaching agent from breaking down prematurely so that every application not only delivers perfect potency but also causes minimal sensitivity. And when it comes to application, the KöR system uses a specially designed tray that seals out saliva so that the antioxidants present in saliva do not neutralize the gel’s oxidizing power.

Is Kör Whitening Right for Me?

KöR offers a range of whitening protocols to suit the needs of patients with teeth at all levels of staining severity. Even if your teeth are badly stained, as from tetracycline or fluorosis, there is a KöR program for you. All levels of treatment have proven results, like the one shown below.

The KöR whitening solution can also be customized to fit your schedule. Night treatment provides the most dramatic results, but if night wearing is troublesome for you, a day treatment option is also available. Depending on the level of bleaching you require, your program may include in-office as well as at-home treatment. At-home treatment periods last anywhere from 2 to 8 weeks depending on how white you want your teeth.

Teeth Whitening at Park Family & Cosmetic Dentistry

Before you begin any whitening treatment, it’s important that your teeth be in good health. For this reason, our process begins with a dental exam. At this appointment, we’ll also discuss your whitening goals and options and come up with a plan that works for you. If everything looks good, we’ll fit you for your tray, show you how to use it, and send you home with everything you need to get started. We’ll schedule your in-office treatment visit as needed as well as a follow-up visit so we can check for sensitivity. To learn more about our process, visit our Teeth Whitening page.

When you’re ready to take the first step toward your brightest smile, give us a call at (239) 206-1500 to schedule your exam. Or if you prefer, simply request an appointment online, and we’ll call you to get you scheduled.
